Top 5 Connecticut Hospitals Ranked

U.S. News and World Report recently published an article ranking Connecticut’s hospitals.  There are 50 hospitals in the state.  According to U.S. News and World Report of the 50 Connecticut hospitals that were ranked, one, Yale-New Haven is nationally ranked and eight are regionally ranked hospitals.

The criteria for ranking hospitals are wide ranging but include some of the following information:

1. Data from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ MedPAR
2. American Hospital Association
3. Physician survey (accounting for 1/4 of the score)

Given this criteria, the following Connecticut hospitals were ranked in the top 5 of the state:

1. Yale-New Haven
2. Hartford Hospital
3. Danbury Hospital
4. Greenwich Hospital (tie)
5. Middlesex Hospital (tie)
6. St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center (tie)
7. Waterbury Hospital (tie)
