Hospital Negligence: Bed Sheets Can Be Source Of Life-Threatening Bacteria
Monday, December 24th, 2018 by Gerard McEnery | Posted In: Hospital Negligence
A recent study published shows that dangerous C. difficile bacteria can be found on hospital bed sheets even after the linens have been laundered. C. difficile, sometimes referred to as C. diff, is a bacteria that causes symptoms that can range from diarrhea to a life-threatening inflammation of the colon.
The research in this study showed that washing bed sheets in a commercial washer with industrial detergent at high temperatures was not enough to remove all traces of this bacteria.
