Did You Know These Car Accident Facts?

It might seem rather simple, Connecticut auto accidents can be avoided by wearing a seatbelt, reducing or eliminating distracted driving, and following the speed limit.  Ok, it is simple.  

There is good news.  In 2019 auto accident deaths declined for the third straight year throughout the United States.  We were trending in the right direction until COVID-19 hit and reckless driving went on the rise again.  Final numbers are not in for 2020, but early indicators from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicate that fatalities due to motor vehicle accidents will rise for the first time in three years as a result of the pandemic.

Now that our feet are firmly planted in 2021 it’s important to remember that no matter how many people are on the road, all the safety measures you take when in traffic should apply when you are driving on an empty road as well.
