In a new study published by BMJ Open, overworked nurses increased patient safety accidents by 30% and patient death increased to 40%. Nursing errors could be Connecticut medical malpractice.
Risk of a patient accident was 8-32% higher when their workload was past the optimal range. Patient death risk increased 43% under the same conditions. The study also found that when a nurse’s workload fell below the optimal range, accident risk dropped 15-27%.
