Bridgeport Crossing Guards Struck On The Job
A few weeks ago in Bridgeport, two crossing guards were struck by a vehicle and dragged 40 feet. A city spokesperson said one guard broke both legs and suffered a brain injury, while the other crossing guard suffered minor injuries.
While accidents like this are rare, this case is made more complex because not only is it an auto accident, but a worker’s compensation accident as well. Experienced attorneys, like those at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan, would look at the entirety of the accident.
- Was the driver who struck them distracted?
- Were the guards in the crosswalk or on the curb?
- Since the crossing guards were on duty, is there a worker’s compensation component to this case?
- Is the city responsible in some way?
