Avoiding Connecticut Personal Injury While Renting Property

- Call the city building department and check to see if any permits were pulled on the property. The building department will have an initial blueprint from when the occupancy certificate was issued. Any other structures outside of that original blueprint should have a building permit issued and approved.
- Ask the property manager or owner for any inspection reports on the property.
- Clarify who is responsible for snow removal to reduce the risk of a slip and fall injury.
