Which Connecticut Hospital Ranked Well Nationally?
Each year the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid updates it’s ranking of hospitals throughout the nation and most recently the group put out rankings that were based on data compiled as recently as 2019 (before the pandemic began.) A number of Connecticut hospitals ranked well in the report.
The report looks at five different categories with a total of 48 criteria in each category and assigns each hospital a star value for each criteria. The categories include;
- Mortality
- Safety
- Readmission Rates
- Patient Experience
- Timely and Effective Care
Out of a possible five stars there were 13 hospitals in Connecticut that ranked with a 4 star rating or higher. The hospitals included;

While a four or five star rating does not indicate that these hospitals did not have issues, they indicate that they are in the top-tier of hospitals locally and nationally. It is important, no matter how highly a hospital is rated, that you protect yourself against possible Connecticut medical malpractice by being a self-advocate and asking good questions along the way if you are hospitalized for any reason.
