Connecticut’s Top 3 Hospitals Ranked
U.S. News and World Report recently published an article ranking Connecticut’s hospitals. There are 50 hospitals in the state. According to U.S. News and World Report of the 50 Connecticut hospitals that were ranked, three, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, are nationally ranked and 11 more are high performing hospitals.
The criteria for ranking hospitals are wide ranging but include some of the following information:
- American Hospital Association data
- Data from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ MedPAR
- Physician survey (accounting for 1/4 of the score)
Given this criteria, the following Connecticut hospitals were ranked in the top 3 of the state:
- Yale-New Haven
- Hartford Hospital
- St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center
