Connecticut Hospitals Among Worst for Patient Acquired Infections
According to a recent study conducted by Kaiser Health, Connecticut’s hospitals rank nationally as some of worst for infection safety.
Six types of infections are monitored and tracked by the federal government: bloodstream infections from a central line, urinary tract infections (UTI) from a catheter, two types of surgical site infections, and two types of bacteria MRSA and C.DIFF.
This study reports that 16 out of Connecticut’s 27 Medicare-approved hospitals were below average for at least one type of infection tracked by the federal government.
If you or a loved one contracted an infection after a hospital stay or surgical procedure and this infection caused a permanent injury (including death), you may have a hospital negligence case.
