Half of Connecticut’s Hospitals Penalized For High Infection Rates

Roughly half (14 out of 31) of Connecticut’s hospitals have been penalized for having high rates of patient infections and preventable injuries while patients were hospitalized. Their penalty is the loss of 1% of their Medicare payments.

• The Connecticut Hospice, Inc., Branford, CT
• Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, CT
• Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT
• Central Connecticut Hospital, New Britain, CT
• John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington, CT
• Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT
• Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, CT
• Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford, CT
• St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, CT
• St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford, CT
• Windham Community Hospital, Willimantic, CT
• Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT
