Connecticut’s Top 5 Hospitals Ranked for 2017

U.S. News and World Report released an article ranking Connecticut’s hospitals. There are 50 hospitals in the state. According to U.S. News and World Report of the 50 Connecticut hospitals that were ranked none made the honor role, but Yale-New Haven Hospital was recognized in nine specialities, and being high-performing in two specialties.
The criteria for ranking hospitals are wide ranging but include some of the following information:
- Data from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ MedPAR
- American Hospital Association
- Physician survey (accounting for 1/4 of the score)
Given this criteria, the following Connecticut hospitals were ranked in the top 5 of the state:
1. Yale-New Haven Hospital
2. Hartford Hospital
3.St. Francis Medical Center
3.Greenwich Hospital (tie)
5. Middlesex Hospital (tie)
5. Danbury Hospital (tie)
5. Stamford Hospital (tie)
