Spring 2017: How Did Connecticut Hospitals Rank?

The Leapfrog Group released its hospital rankings focused on transparency, quality and safety in the U.S. healthcare system. The scores were based on how well each hospital kept its patients safe from infections, injuries, errors and accidents.
Last fall, Connecticut hospitals ranked 36 nationally. This ranking period we are down two spots to number 38 nationally.

- St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford, CT
- Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT
- Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT (Up from a B in the Fall)
- Sharon Hospital, Sharon, CT
Hospitals that received a B grade:
- Day-Kimball Hospital, Putnum, CT
- The William Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT
- Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT (Down from an A in the Fall)
- Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, CT (Down from an A in the Fall)
- Milford Hospital, Milford, CT (Up from a C in the Fall)
