Connecticut Auto Accidents: Are Millennial Drivers Dangerous?

The Millennial generation often gets a lot of grief, but a recent study by AAA Foundation shows that they are the worst drivers. Drivers between ages 19 and 24 engage in the riskiest behaviors while operating a motor vehicle including texting, speeding, and running red lights.
In 2015, US traffic deaths rose by the highest percentage in 50 years to 35,092. Other findings from the study include:
- Nearly half of millennials reported running a red light when they could have safely stopped at the light (compared to 36% of other ages)
- Nearly 12% of them said it was acceptable to drive 10 mph over the posted speed limit in a school zone.
- 59% of millennials said they typed or read a text message while driving (compared to 31% in other age groups)
