daycare choosingSelecting a child care center for your most precious bundle of joy can be a tedious one. In addition to choosing a center that aligns with your parenting philosophies, there are also safety concerns to consider when making your selection to avoid a Connecticut personal injury to your child.

A Shelton child recently died unexpectedly from a Benedryl overdose that may have been administered by his daycare. When choosing your childcare center, ask the following questions:

  1. How long ago did the State of Connecticut conduct an on-site visit? You can always follow up by looking up the center here.
  2. What kind of emergency training does your staff have?
  3. What is your medicine administration policy?
  4. How are medications stored?
  5. What type of background checks are conducted on staff prior to hiring?
  6. What is your discipline policy?

Daycare centers can be fun and nurturing environments for little minds and bodies. However, Connecticut personal injuries can happen. If your child is ever significantly injured at daycare, call our office. Our nurse/attorney, Gayle Sullivan, and doctor/attorney, Bob Messey, will begin an immediate medical and legal investigation into your child’s injuries.
