silver-sandsWhether you are going to the beach here in Connecticut, or another state, personal injury is still a reality. Keep yourself, friends and family safe this summer by following these safety tips.

  1. Follow the instructions of lifeguards.
  2. Follow posted signage.
  3. Use sunscreen.
  4. Swim only in designated areas.
  5. Do not dive – protect your head and neck.
  6. Look out for plant and animal life that might be dangerous.
  7. Keep young children and inexperienced swimmers in a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
  8. Stay 100 feet away from jetties and piers. Rip currents are often near them.
  9. Drink plenty of water.
