2016 Hospital Rankings Are Out – How Did Connecticut Do?

The Leapfrog Group released its Spring 2016 Hospital Safety Scores on Connecticut hospitals. Leapfrog Group is a non-profit organization focused on transparency, quality and safety in U.S. healthcare system. The scores were based on how well each hospital kept its patients safe from infections, injuries, errors and accidents.

Last year, Connecticut hospitals ranked 36 nationally. This year they are down five spots to number 41 nationally.

Hospitals that received an A grade:

• Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT
• Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT
• Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, CT

Hospitals that received a B grade:

• Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT
• St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford, CT
• MidState Medical Center, Meriden, CT
• University of Connecticut Health Center, John Dempsey Hospital
• Bristol Hospital, Bristol, CT
• St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT

Hospitals that received a C grade:

• Windham Hospital, Willimantic, CT
• Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs, CT
• Rockville General Hospital, Vernon Rockville, CT
