Medical Malpractice & Death Linked to Poor Communication
Connecticut medical malpractice accidents can happen when you are in the emergency room, when your doctor and nurse are communicating, or through nursing communication, just to name a few. A new study links 30% of medical malpractice cases to miscommunication between 2009 and 2013 (1,744 were deaths).
Many of the cases examined were simple errors that turned fatal for the patient. The study cited that some of the causes for patient injury include overworked staff, cumbersome medical record systems, interruptions and workplace culture.
If a loved one was injured, including death, and you suspect medical malpractice as a cause, find out if you have a case. Our firm’s doctor/attorney Bob Messey and nurse/attorney Gayle Sullivan will begin an immediate investigation into your case.
