Two Connecticut Train Accidents in Two Days
Train accidents in Connecticut are becoming increasingly more prevalent. In fact, within two days, two vehicles were hit by Metro-North Trains. Luckily there were no injuries.
In Stamford, a snow plow driver was clearing a private drive at the River Bend crossing along the New Canaan line when his plow truck was stuck in a ditch near the tracks. He was able to get out of the vehicle before the train struck his truck. The train was also empty and doing a test run.
In Norwalk, a Metro-North train stuck a car at a private crossing on Commerce Street on its way to Danbury. There were no injuries on the train, but the driver of the car was taken to the hospital.
