Wires Fall in Bridgeport, Hit School Bus

A few weeks ago in Bridgeport, a dump truck traveling on Mead Street hit low-hanging wires causing them to fall on passing school bus and fence. Bridgeport police have reported there were no injuries, thankfully. The only passengers on the bus were the driver and an aide.
While accidents like this are rare, any passengers would likely have had a case with several defendants. Experienced attorneys, like those at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan, would look at the entirety of the accident.
- Whose responsibility is it to keep the wires at an appropriate height for vehicles to pass?
- Does the dump truck driver share any liability in that his driving is what pulled them down?
- Since the bus passengers were on duty, is there a worker’s compensation component to this case?
- Is the city responsible in some way?
