New Connecticut Bicycle Law Affects Everyone

A new bicycle safety law went into effect July 1, 2015 and affects everyone who shares Connecticut roadways.
The new law no longer requires bicyclists to stay as close to the right side of the road as possible allowing bicyclists to ride with road traffic.
If you are a cyclist, the attorneys at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan urge you to take extreme caution on Connecticut roadways, whether you are in a car or on a bike. Motorists and cyclists should follow these safety tips:
- Stay alert. Always be checking your mirrors and blind spots. It can take a split second for catastrophe to occur.
- Obey rules of the road. Traffic laws are present to keep everyone safe.
- Be safe. If you are a bicyclist, wear your safety padding (including helmet) and if you are a motorist, always wear your seatbelt.
The attorneys at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan want everyone on the road to arrive at their destination safe and sound.
