New Ways to Identify Colorectal Cancer

A recent article published in the Wall Street Journal shows that patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer are more likely to see their family physician significantly more in the year leading up to the diagnosis than those without cancer.
This same study found that those with cancer had more hemoglobin blood tests and prescriptions for hemorrhoids, which is a sign for colorectal cancer.
The Mayo Clinic describes the symptoms of colon cancer:
- A change in bowel habits
- Rectal bleeding or bloody stool
- Persistent abdominal discomfort
- Feeling like your bowel doesn’t empty completely
- Weakness or fatigue
- Unexplained weight loss
The attorneys at McEnery Price Messey & Sullivan suggest you follow your doctor’s recommended screening schedule for early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer.
